Scientists from Korea sought to develop the concept of smart phones that can be used to check health. This concept can be realized through the touch screen feature that will detect the condition of the body.
A group of scientists from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science of Technology (KAIST), reveals that the touch-screen technology can be used to detect biomolecules substances, as is done in the medical test.
One of the scientists in the study named Hyun-gyu Park said the idea came from the fact that the touch screen works by recognizing an electronic signal at the touch of a finger, and so is the presence of certain proteins and DNA should be recognized.
The touch screen on a smart phone, PDA or other electronic devices work by sensing the electrical waves that come out of its consumer body. While the body’s biochemical substances such as proteins and DNA molecules also issued a typical electric waves.
The research team added that currently they are developing a kind of film with reactive materials that can recognize specific biochemical substances. But to confirm that the touch screen can recognize biomolecular substances, is the first step.
Because no one is going to shed blood or urine on the touch screen, the sample can be placed in a field which will then be inserted into a smart phone or a module that is connected to it.
However, no details about the design of time to turn smartphones into the diagnosis tool. We’ll wait.
